Paydirt GMJ Awards | Explorer of the Year
Our Managing Director, Zeff Reeves, attended the Paydirt GMJ Awards last week as Tesoro Gold was honoured as Explorer of the Year for 2025.
The event celebrated the outstanding achievements in the Gold Mining Journal Awards, with Miner of the Year going to Ramelius Resources Limited and Explorer of the Year to Tesoro Gold. It was fantastic to reflect on what a big year 2025 was for our team, and to share insights about our El Zorro Gold Project in Chile, where we’ve defined what is believed to be the country’s first intrusive-related gold system.
Highlights include the scale and quality of the Ternera deposit, our growing ~2Moz resource, strong project fundamentals, and the momentum we’ve built as we advance toward PFS and DFS activities. The event also provided an opportunity to discuss our broader vision for the coastal gold corridor at El Zorro and the disciplined, technically driven exploration approach that continues to unlock value.
GMJ editor Dominic Piper hosted a conversation with Zeff Reeves and Ramelius CFO Darren Millman, unpacking what made 2025 such a standout year for both companies. Insightful leadership, strong strategy and a remarkable year for gold.
And yes – Zeff attended the event with a broken ankle, proving that nothing slows down the explorer spirit!
